Strategy 21

Following the 6th Conference of Ministers of the Council of Europe responsible for Cultural Heritage “Cultural Heritage in the 21. century: towards a common strategy for Europe” organised by the Belgian Chairmanship of the CoE Council of Ministers and its outcome, the Namur Declaration  the Secretariat of the Council of Europe set up an enlarged working group with the task of drafting a European Strategy for Cultural Heritage in the 21st century.

The Strategy will consider three main components (social, economic and territorial development, knowledge and education component) and their interconnection.

The last meeting of the Enlarged Working Group is foreseen during the month of May. The draft Strategy is expected to be presented to the Steering Committee for Culture, Heritage and Landscape in its next session (13-15 June 2016) and to be adopted by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe by the end of 2016.
